Good morning! Tara here with my last guest post of the month. I'm so grateful to October Afternoon for having me along for the ride this month. I have had such a great time interacting with all of you, posting on the blog and of course, creating with the fabulous products!
Today I'm going to share a layout I created about my nephew's 10th birthday party. As you may have noticed over the month, I am a real big fan of typing up my journaling and enclosing it in some way, whether that be through stitching or strategic embelleshing. This is a way for me to really make it stand out. In my mind, telling the story is really why I am making the layout in the first place, but I got bored with some of the traditional methods I was using. I wanted to make journaling part of the design, instead of an afterthought. Sort of like saying, "look at this layout I created, with that cute picture and all these beautiful products... oh, and this is why..." with a scribbled "nephew's 10th birthday party" somewhere in the corner, or on a tag that's hidden away.
I would love to see all of you take the opportunity to make journaling part of your design, really celebrate it. The result is so gratifying. Both when you've completed the layout, and when you watch your family read your words. Here's how I used that concept on this particular layout:
I'm really excited to see how you take this on, and I hope you'll link up in the comments or tag me over on Instagram at @taraelias.
Thanks again October Afternoon for having me, it's been wonderful popping in here every Friday!
