Hello! Patricia here with you today. I love seeing interesting pieces and pinning them, and there was something about this piece by Amy van Luijk that interested me.
Her piece inspired me to create strips from the Treasure Map pattern paper. Then as I looked through the new Treasure Map pattern papers, I came across the Skull Rock pattern paper and it was perfect with the lines on it for this inspiration piece. So I cut large triangles from it to place on either side of my strips of pattern papers. Next, I added some straight machine stitching. Inspired by the piece, I tucked my photos under the vertical strips of pattern paper.

Then I started placing stickers and die cuts from Treasure Map under the strips, and placing my title vertically along the left for my title.

I typed my journaling onto one of the stickers, then finished this off with the Travel Daily Flash stamp, which goes perfectly with this collection, and Midway Token Sprinklers! While my layout is not about pirates or being at sea, this layout came together quickly because it worked so well with our trip to the strawberry patch.

I am so excited to have Suz with me today and was thrilled to see what she would do with this inspiration. She blew me away with her card.

This is what Suz had to say:
When I first saw Patricia's fabulous inspiration piece, a flurry of ideas went through my mind. At first, I had an idea for an Easter card in my mind, but instead opted for a Bon Voyage card (It could also be a pirate party invitation. Don't the cut up strips of patterned paper look like fun party straws?!) using the newly released Treasure Map collection; the Shape Stickers, Tin Pins, Border Stickers, Sea and Salt Mini Market alphabet stickers and Whale Bone Reef (Side A) patterned paper. I tucked the parrot with hook around one of the patterned "straw" strips for him to perch upon and placed the Tin Pin such that it represented the sun in a bit of an abstract way. The patterned straw strips not only give dimension to the card, but I also think it provides a little more movement to the static card!
Thanks so much Patricia for inviting me to play along with this inspiration piece. I so enjoyed it!!
Amazing,
Suz! Thank you so much for joining me! Suz's card has such a cool tropical/pirate feel to it, and the strips just make a great base for her card. I also love how we both used the new
Treasure Map and the same inspiration, but two completely different looks.
Hope you join us and share your interpretation with us either on the
