Hello everyone! I'm so excited to be a guest here on the blog and sharing a couple of layouts I created using the Apple Cider and Public Library collections with you today!
Lately, I've been obsessed with creating different angular designs on my projects, especially diagonals. I like choosing several different patterned papers and placing them on a piece of card stock at different angles to create a bold background for my page like I did in the photo below...
I used a ruler to make a mark on the edges of the patterned paper before I used my paper trimmer to cut the strips at the desired angles I wanted for my page. After I adhered the paper down to the base card stock, I used my sewing machine to stitch them down to add a more "homespun" feel to my layout.
I used lots of the Sew Fun Banners from the Public Library collection and placed them on the sides of my photos and across the entire page. I used foam dots to adhere some of the banners down to create some extra dimension. I mixed in some Pillow Puff stickers from the Apple Cider collection and a few Snap Caps on the banner as well.
I positioned my title under the photos and along the same angle as the piece of patterned paper in the middle of my page. Since the title was fairly long, I used a label and layered some smaller Daily Flash Alpha Stickers on top of it to save some space and mix up the fonts a bit.
For this next layout, I placed pieces of patterned paper from the Public Library and Apple Cider collections diagonally across my page on a piece of cream card stock.
I stitched the patterned papers down to the base card stock and positioned my photo in the middle of the page using foam adhesive. After I placed my photo where I wanted it, I used some Flash Blurbs and Snap Caps from the Apple Cider collection, along with a few other embellishments to fill in the "white space" around my photo.
I layered some more Pillow Puffs on top of some of the embellishments and stitched down leaves I created using coordinating patterned papers and my die cutting machine.
I placed a Word Sticker from the Public Library collection in the top left-hand corner of my page and folded a piece of patterned paper up in the bottom right-hand corner to direct the eye toward my photo.
I placed my title below the folded flap using some Daily Flash Alpha and a Public Library Label Sticker.
There are so many ways you can mix up your designs, patterned papers, and photo placement by creating with different angles on your pages. I hope I've inspired you to try a "different angle" out on your next layout.
Thanks for stopping by today and I'll be back next Friday with some pocket page inspiration!
