Hi everyone! Roree here with today's Thursday Sketch Challenge.
Here is my sketch:
While creating today's sketch, I orginally had a paint splatter background in mind. While I was putting it together in Photoshop, I came across a fun stars shape that looked like a mix of stars of different sizes and an idea for my project was born. I knew immediately that that was the direction I wanted to go.
Here is the card I created:
The stars made me think "boy", so I thought it would be fun to create a masculine-themed card. I went to my Daily Flash stash and used patterned papers for the stars and a Snap Cap from the All Boy collection, patterned paper for the background, border, and sentiment from the Girl Talk collection, some Red Mesh Washi Tape, and buttons from the 9 to 5 collection.
I just love the mix of colors and patterns in these two collections!
Alex played along with my sketch also, and here is the adorable layout she created and what she had to say about it:
"As you can see, I stayed pretty true to Roree's sketch. It was already perfect for me. I cut all the stars with my Cameo, using different Daily Flash All Boy papers, such as Top Secret, Cooties, King of the Hill and Me First. The strips at the top and the bottom are also cut from the Me First paper. For my title, I mixed three different kinds of alphas, chipboard Grey Flannel and stickers Snap Peas and Dandelions. The word "Remember" I sketched and cut with the Cameo. Three red little stars are heat embossed. I used the star stamp from Homemade set. A tin pin from the Good Day set and some mist splatters and my layout was finished. Thanks Roree for this awesome sketch! I had a blast playing with it!"
Isn't it just fabulous?!!
I hope you enjoyed today's sketch and the projects Alex and I created using it. If you get a chance to play along, don't forget to post your project in the OA Flickr group. We can't wait to see how you interpret it.
Thanks so much for stopping by!
