[Cue Bon Jovi...]
Vivian here today with a fun project using the new Daily Flash Girl Talk line. Today, we'll be making arrow embellishments that can be used in a variety of ways. Let's start with my layout:
Now, let's take a look at how I made those arrows.
Start by cutting feathers from the Daily Flash Girl Talk Whisper Paper (or you could die cut or hand cut feathers from other patterned papers, but, hey, this one already has feathers so I went with that).
Here's the paper:
I find it easiest to just cut around the outer perimeter of the feather shape, like this:
And then snip the bits out from the edges.
Next, gather your supplies:
- Handcut feathers
- Wooden skewer (I used sharp scissors to cut off the pointy end)
- Pop Drops
- Adhesive dot roller
- Glue dots
- Twine
- Scissors
Using the adhesive dot roller, layer the feather shapes:
Flip the collaged feathers over and add a glue dot:
Place the end of the skewer on top of the glue dot and flip your arrow over:
Add a Pop Drop heart and a twine bow, trimming the ends of the bow to the desired length:
You can then either add a patterned paper triangle to the other end of the skewer with a glue dot, or, as I did, add a heart.
Here's a closer look at the feather ends of the arrows on my layout:
Please post projects inspired by today's post to our October Afternoon Flickr Gallery so that we can see what you've created!
