Roree and I (Vivian) are here today to show you some fun and unusual ways to use the Daily Flash pocket pages. Our goal today is to help you think outside of the box!
When Roree's project for this challenge hit my inbox I was astonished. She used the pocket pages to create Valentine's Day flags. Sheer genius! (Pun intended.)
Aren't they terrific? Here's what Roree had to say: "When Vivian told me about the pocket pages challenge, I knew I wanted to do something a little different than just a page. I decided to cut up the pockets to use them individually. I noticed that the pockets on the left edge with the binder holes had just enough of an opening to place over a straw and that each pocket would be perfect to use as a flag. I decorated the pockets for Valentine's Day using Daily Flash—in particular, the Milk Money, Apple Cider, and Eggnog collections. The flags would be perfect to add to Pixy Stix candy for a fun little Valentine treat."
Let's get a closer look:
I decided to cut apart one of the pocket pages and use a piece with six squares to create a 5" x 7" card:
I had fun here, using the new Daily Flash Picture This! and Homemade stamp sets with the Daily Flash Frame Up chipboard set, the B side of the Science paper from Daily Flash Milk Money, and Flash Blurbs from the Daily Flash Apple Cider, Eggnog and Milk Money lines. Here's a closer look:
Roree and I hope we've inspired you to cut up those pocket pages and do something unusual with them! If you do, please post to our October Afternoon Flickr gallery so we can admire your work!
