Hey OA fans...Nicole here today!
A bit of 'background' about this card: I love stamps. I have a hard time completing a project without them. So when I find one that I REALLY like, it's fun to let it stand out as the
focus.
Case in point, the background stamp from the Farm Girl collection:
It may not seem impressive at first glance, admittedly I am sometimes
intimidated by a 4x6 stamp of just a single image ... I'm more of a words/phrases
kind of girl. And I played around with different colors of ink with this one,
paired with multiple colors of cardstock and almost set it aside.
Then something told me to reach for my tried and true favorites...White Zing
Embossing Powder + Charcoal Grey Cardstock. WHAM! The result literally made me smile ... look at how much detail there is here!
Honestly, I could not believe how crisp the image turned out ... so I let it
shine by keeping the rest of the card super simple. It did need some color, so
I made a banner from a scrap of Rose Trellis paper and mounted the title onto
it using different colored alphabet stickers from the Farm Girl 12x12 alphabet
sticker sheet.
After typing the beginning of the sentiment onto the label sticker (which I
secretly wish for an entire sheet of ... this particular label shape with the star
on top), all I needed were a few details to spruce things up. A button here,
brad there ... you get the idea. Again, the idea was to allow the
stamped/embossed image to take center stage.
Now all I need to do is mail this off to a friend ... it should be just the thing
to add a bit of color to the grey winter days we are having here in Ohio this
time of year.
