Hey everyone! Roree here with today's Thursday Sketch Challenge. I am back at it with another inspiration piece from Pinterest. Today's sketch was inspired by this image:
I just love the simple design and artsy feel of this canvas. The quote is just awesome too. With it, I created this sketch:
For this sketch, I created a card using the new Witch Hazel collection.
I put my card together using the Gleam of Moon and Hoot of Owl patterned papers, a Postcard, Sprinklers color mist in Midnight, Chip 'Nn Stick chipboard, a Shape Sticker, Mix-Up Alpha Stickers (love these!), a Designer Brad, and Washi Tape. I flipped the sketch, because it worked better with the Postcard backgroud. I didn't follow the sketch exactly, but I tried to use all of the elements in the sketch.
This is collection is so fun to work with. I just love the color combinations and great embellishments!
Michelle played along with the sketch this week and created this beautiful card set:
Michelle used the sketch to create focal pieces for some office themed cards using the 9 to 5 collection. She started with squares of patterned paper, some Journal Cards and an Instagram she created of her vintage typewriter. From there, she added little bits and pieces to create a layered collage with machine stitching and stapling to hold the pieces in place. Her finished cards were easy to assemble with just a strip of patterned paper along the bottom and a strip of Washi tape along the top.
You can visit Michelle's blog for more details on how she created these cards with this fun layering technique.
I hope you enjoyed today's inspiration sketch. If you get a chance to play along, don't forget to post your project in the OA Flickr group. I can't wait to see how you interpret it!
Thanks so much for stopping by!
