Happy New Year everyone! We hope your holidays were filled with joy and laughter. Hopefully you've recovered from holiday festivities and are ready to get some of those memories scrapbooked. :)
I'm (Marcy) here today with a challenge for you. A challenge that would work great for New Years goals, reflections and resolutions... or can just as easily work with a multitude of other topics as well.
Today's theme is "Then and Now".
I love how Kinsey chose to approach this topic... by looking at the last four years of her daughter's life in respects to one particular topic.
"So for my take on the challenge, I thought it would be fun to look back at the last 4 Januarys. January 2008 was when we came back to the states after being stationed in England for 4 years and it was a huge adjustment for Brianna so it's kind of cool to see how much she's changed since then. I used Farmhouse papers, chipboard, stamps, and wheat field & tinsel sprINKlers on this one (the tinsel mist is hard to see in my photos but it's gorgeous in person). I also customized the fabric thickers and Basic Grey mini alphas using the wheat field mist to match the page elements. This was such a fun challenge to jump start the new year!"
I adore those doily stamps from the stamp set!
I also dug through the photos on my computer and picked a favorite one of my son from 5 years ago. I combined it with a photo from this past year and came up with the perfect start for a layout reflecting on one of my son's greatest qualities (and how it's changed over the years).
I'm really loving the Farmhouse collection right now. It just works for so many topics and themes.
And a few little closeups.
I love using just one side of the Little Flyers as little banners.
So, how would you approach this theme? Reflecting on the past year or on a broader scale? Be sure to share your layouts in our Flickr gallery and link up in the comment section so we can check out your take on it!
