Hey everyone! Kinsey here with another fun way to use your sprINKlers...I'm a newbie to the misting phenomenon and I will freely own my newfound obsession with spray inks. I think it's safe to say that I can't stop experimenting with them- so that being said, today I couldn't help but share my latest experiment.
Supplies used: neutral background papers: kraft cardstock, red rover patterned paper (sidewalks). alpha stickers (boarding pass). sprINKlers (set sail, miss mary mack, & all aboard). glue pen. square punch. pencil. ruler. paint brush.
Let's take a look at what we'll be doing today...
So to get started, I punched several squares from a neutral paper and cardstock using my square punch.
Using a glue pen (or repositionable adhesive), cover the surface that you're working on with glue...I used a glue pen on mine, let the glue dry first (this makes it repositionable), and then began placing the punched squares in a diagonal grid. The reason I used repo glue here was more of a precaution- if I messed up, I knew that it would be easier to swap out a square :)
Next, I measured the alphas that I wanted to use as my mask (they're about 1 inch tall) so using my ruler I measured and penciled in lines at 1 inch intervals down the card and I also added a centerpoint line for centering my wording...TIP: for easily centered words, start at the middle of your word and work your way out.
Once you've added your words/ title, erase any exposed pencil lines (the pencil marks that are under your letters can be erased later). Another TIP: if you think that the alpha stickers might stick a little too well, aka. be impossible to peel up, stick 'em to your shirt a few times to make them less sticky.
Now for the fun part! Grab a paint brush and a few sprINKlers and paint the punched squares alternating colors. I just dipped the brush right into the bottle...such a daredevil, I know, ha!
Last but not least- carefully peel up the sticker letters and then permanently adhere the squares so you're left with a really cool looking resist effect...
So that does it for today friends! I always have so much fun doing tutorials so I hope you enjoyed it as well! Thanks so much for stopping by today and be sure to check back tomorrow for a fun feature that you won't want to miss!
See you soon, Kinsey
