Good Morning! It's Becky here today with a new challenge. As I was pondering what to do for today, I decided to keep it basic. My life was changed dramatically over 25 years ago, when my Mom was in a horrific car accident, which resulted in a serious head injury. She lost her ability to communicate verbally, as well as losing her ability to express herself via writing. When I find a note or card that I received from her prior to her accident, it's such a treasure. She also lost the use of her right hand, which was her dominant hand, so even when she communicates by writing a word or two, it's not in her usual script. For those of you who have been through a similiar experience or lost a loved one, you know how much their written expressions can mean.
My experience with my Mom is really one of the big reasons that I scrapbook. I want my family to have remembrances of how I feel about them. Plus, I think it's super theraputic to document our lives with photos and written sentiments. So even more than just using your handwriting, I challenge you to write your sentiments, maybe even in note form to your loved ones.
Here's Marcy's take on the challenge:
Here are a couple of closeups:
I just love her work. Sweet words, written in her hand. Lovely.
There are 20 in my family, just kids, spouses and grandkidlets. I don't know that I've ever written to all of them on one page...I write lots of my thoughts and feelings on their individual pages, so this was a little different for me.
I hope you'll give this challenge a try! We would love to see what you come up with, so please post your creation on the OA flickr gallery.
