Happy Monday! Stacey here today with an inspiration challenge for you. The inspiration piece is this word collage I found in the Pottery Barn Teen catalog. I loved the scrappy potential I saw in it. Cool, huh?
So. The challenge is to create something that is inspired by this wall - just use it as a jumping-off point, and get creative!
I used unevenly cut, overlapping strips of patterned paper (more little pieces from my scrap drawer!) to create a background for my journaling on this layout:
I started with a pretty bold background, added a favorite photo that has lots of white space, and placed a pretty neutral block beneath the photo. On top of this block, I arranged scraps to make a little Sidewalks collage. I placed my journaling on another neutral block, so it would be readable.
I sent the inspiration piece to one of the October Afternoon design team members, Becky Novacek, and she created an artsy, colorful layout with beautiful strips on a kraft background:
I hope you will be able to do something creative and scrappy with this challenge! If you do, please don't forget to post a photo at the October Afternoon Flickr gallery so we can all see it!
