Hi OA fans! It's Thursday, so that means that we are here with another installment of our sketch inspiration! It's Amy here today and the sketch I created focuses on a super fun stacked element on the right of the sketch. I thought this would be perfect for our sketch since a) the Boarding Pass Chip N Stick pieces have this fabulous film strip frame to utilize, which I did, AND b) because the trend of photo booth style photos are so 'in' right now! Either way, it's a very cool element to use on your pages!
Here's my take on the sketch! I used Boarding Pass in a bit of an unexpected way, focusing on the salmon toned pinks in the beautiful polka dotted patterned paper. I also added some of the beautiful striped canvas organdy ribbon from May Arts. Talk about a perfect match between October Afternoon and May Arts!! Wow!! I LOVED this ribbon the moment I laid eyes on it!!
Remember how I mentioned the Chip N Stick from Boarding Pass? Well this is how I utilized that particular piece! I created a fun and bold title out of the stacked element in the sketch. It doesn't have to be photos, right!? Definitely not!
Speaking of which, let's take a look at what Kinsey did when I gave her the sketch to play with! I ALWAYS look forward to Kinsey's work and this is no exception!
Kinsey created this fabulous card, again using Boarding Pass, and even further simplifying the sketch, utilizing the stacked element as a vertical layering piece. I LOVE how she turned the horizontal stamp vertically - it adds so much interest and really creates a wonderful 'pop' with its gorgeous blue color!
Just look at all those scrumptious layers! Thanks, Kinsey!
So what do you think? Do you have the new Chip N Sticks from Boarding Pass yet? Or do you have tons of photos (old or new) taken in a photo booth? Well, we'd love to see your interpretation of this week's sketch! SImply upload it to our Flickr gallery for all to see! We'd love for you to play along! Thanks so much for joining us today and I hope you have a wonderful week! :D ~Amy ;)
