Happy Monday to all you OA fans!
Lexi here and we are going to talk about inspiration. When you are a crafter, scrapbooker, or any form of creative person you can find it just about anywhere, right? And often times the inspiration comes form nothing craft related at all. For instance, last week I was in Panera having my 203rd black cherry smoothie of the summer. (Ok—maybe I exaggerate, but not by much. I LOVE those things!) I went to stand up and noticed a fun pattern on the booth I had been sitting in. I snapped a pic with my phone's camera just for you:
Cool, right? And easily doable with some circle punches and a sewing machine...add in the cheery colors of Sidewalks and you have a winner!
Because I only wanted a section to have the pattern I masked off a square and misted with All Aboard Sprinkler. I varied the circle pattern slightly, but stayed pretty close. My 1 inch and ½ inch circle punches saw some action :) A few close ups:
The insanely talented Becky joined me in this challenge and created the sweetest layout inspired by a window display at J.Crew, as well as popular subway signs!
Absolutely beautiful!
So what has been inspiring you lately? Notice any fun patterns or color combos while out and about? Show them off! Use them as the jumping point to your next project and let the paper and glue start flying ;) As always, we would love to see your “inspiring” projects in our Flickr gallery :)
Enjoy your Monday!
