Happy Thursday! Itʼs Jill here, with a sketch that is sure to help you to scrap those summer photos in no time at all.
This sketch is based on two main blocks, which serve as the foundation for a fun line of accents and journaling. Because of its simplicity, it can be adapted to fit your personal style quite easily. Inspired by the new October Afternoon Boarding Pass line, both Roree and I interpreted this sketch with our vacation memories in mind. Although the sketch accommodates at least two photos, it can also be modified to showcase one amazing photo, as Roreeʼs layout demonstrates.
Rather than use the accent line as a divider for two photos, she works it seamlessly across a single (and may I add, mesmerizing?) photo. Notice how its placement makesuse of the rule of thirds, so that the viewerʼs eye is naturally drawn to this area of the layout. Brilliant. Arenʼt the Boarding Pass accents perfect here?
Like Roreeʼs layout, my version of the sketch tweaks the number of photos that can be used. My own layout includes four photos, made possible by splitting the bottom block into three smaller blocks.
As in the sketch, the accent line divides the top and bottom sections of the layout. It includes a bunch of fun tourist-themed items from the Boarding Pass line. Being from Hawaiʼi, I am tickled that items in this line reference the Aloha State more than once.
How will you interpret this sketch? Weʼd love to see! Be sure to post your version in the October Afternoon Flickr gallery.
