Guest designer Linda Auclair makes the cutest little birdhouses that she sells on etsy (http://www.etsy.com/shop/elendae). She was kind enough to share her process with us. Take a look...
Materials needed:
Small wooden birdhouse (I got mine at Dollar Tree)
October Afternoon Farm Fresh collection pp's: Root Cellar (reverse), Chicken Coop (reverse) and Hay Barn
October Afternoon cardstock stickers
October Afternoon Word Stickers
lace scraps
buttons
white paint
Mod Podge
Stickles glitter glue
foam adhesive squares
scallop border punch
1 inch circle punch
scrap paper
craft knife
Instructions
1. Paint birdhouse white. Allow to dry.
2. Measure sides, front and back of birdhouse. Create a template using scrap paper.
3. Cut front and back from the red gingham side of the Root Cellar paper. Cut sides from the print side of Chicken Coop Paper. Adhere to birdhouse with Mod Podge.
4. Cut several 1 inch strips from the striped Hay Barn paper. Using the scallop border punch, scallop one side of each of them. Cut 10 strips slightly wider than your roof. Starting at the bottom of the roof, glue overlapping rows of the scalloped paper. When dry, trim edges with scissors or craft knife. Accent each scalloped edge with Stickles.
5. Embellish front of the birdhouse with lace and layered buttons. Adhere "milk label" sticker to a piece of scrap paper. Punch out the middle and adhere to birdhouse around the hole. Adhere other cardstock stickers to birdhouse front. Adhere goose to scrap paper and cut out and layer over other stickers with foam adhesive square.
6. Enjoy!
