Design team member Stacey Kingman loves to make cards. There's a wide range of creative opportunity involved in cardmaking. Sometimes she'll spend two hours on a card, sometimes five minutes. For her, it depends on her mood and the situation. Often, she'll make a card just because she wants to play with her tools and paper, not because she needs to send a greeting to anyone. She tells us, when she does this, she tries to make cards that will fit a variety of occassions so she can use them later when she needs a card but doesn't have time to make one.
Stacey made these three cards with the new October Afternoon Wild Cards. Each card has a general theme, but not a specific message. She kept the design simple and varied the papers, ribbon, and embellishments. The first one is from the Cherry Hill collection. She had a "thank you" card in mind when she made it, but it could easily be a card to encourage someone or just a "thinking of you" card. She says that she has found that she really need to keep more of these non-specific cards in her stash!
The second card is made with the Road Map collection. Don't you just love the sleepy owl on this Wild Card!? She confesses that when she made it, she had a "hope you're feeling better soon" card in mind, but it could even be used for a fun wedding card or maybe just a silly "hello" card.
The third card Stacey made is from the Ducks in a Row collection. It would make a sweet baby card for a boy. It's just a nice blank card, a little more masculine than the other two, with a wonderful vintage feel.
There are so many ideas for using these Wild Cards on greeting cards! Stitch them, cut them into pieces, add rub-ons to them, make very small cards out of the Wild Cards themselves...She tells us she'll do that next! (We can't wait!)
