This week, you'll meet Angie Hagist, our wonderful design team coordinator!  She's been with us since the very beginning and we're very happy to introduce her to you...

What's your Name?

What's your favorite OA paper line?

Probably weathervane.  Although, I really love Road Map & Cherry Hill too.

What size do you scrapbook?

Mostly 8.5x11 - because I like the books to fit on my shelves and not hang over the edges. I tend to obsess over the little things like that.  ;)

one.  

Do you make cards?

oh, yeah!  I love to make cards with the scraps.  Another reason to do 8.5x11 layouts - more scraps to make cards with!

Is your scrap area messy or neat?

ha!  It's like a bomb went off in there.

What camera do you use?

Canon 40d

What is your favorite OA stamp set?

Oooh.  I have so many.  I'd say my most-used are Notebook Doodles and Milk Truck.

Your favorite Ink?

Close to My Heart for colors and Ancient Page for black.

Where do you find your inspiration?

I find inspiration everywhere!  Magazines, books, junk-mail, restaurant menus, etc.  It's everywhere you look!

What's your favorite scrapbooking color?

Anything but purple!  

What's your most-used scrapbook tool?

Hmmm.  Lately, it's my Tool Taxi from Fiskars.  (Thanks for showing me that great tool, Stacey!)

Are you a slow scrapper or a quick scrapper?

I'm quick.  

What's your favorite quote?

"Some things are true whether you believe in them or not."  I don't know who said it, but I like it.

Give us your favorite tip...
(Vivian stole my letter sticker tip! LOL!) But, another one is if you like to hand-stitch, get yourself some embroidery needles.  They have huge eyes and are super easy to thread.  You can find them in the embroidery section of the craft store.

Lets Mix it up!

One of the best things about October Afternoon products is that so many of the lines work well together!  You can put County Fair next to Weathervane...or Daydream with Ducks in a Row...or Hometown with Detours.  The possibilities are endless!!  Here are two layouts done by some of the mix-it-up masters on our design team:

So, for this week's challenge, we want to see you mix things up!  Create a layout, card, or project using papers from at least two different October Afternoon collections.  Mix Night Light with Hometown...or Detours with County Fair!  Any two lines...it doesn't have to be a lot, use whatever you have on hand!  Post your links in the comments section and we'll be picking a few lucky winners to get some of our oh-so-fabulous cardstock sticker sets (colors and styles will vary):

Very rarely

Is your scrap area messy or neat?
I'm pretty much messy when I scrap but I always have to clean up after every project otherwise I can't start on a new one with all the mess in  my scrap area

What camera do you use?
Canon 350d

What is your favorite OA stamp set?
I love the "Remember When" stamp set because it makes it easy for me to include dates in my pages.

Your favorite Ink?
Versamark brilliance and Colorbox Chestnut 

Where do you find your inspiration?
I am inspired most by photos and memories which I want to record.

What's your favorite scrapbooking color?
I am loving all things kraft colored right now.

What's your most-used scrapbook tool?
my micro-tip scissors definitely

Are you a slow scrapper or a quick scrapper?
Quick scrapper. I have to finish the page I'm working on otherwise my 4 year old daughter will get her hands on my project and I'll never be able to finish it:)

Card Inspiration

Are you a cardmaker?  Well, here is another great card idea from designer Stacey Kingman!  She used some of our Weathervane papers as well as Plain Jane rub-ons.  It's super detailed - look at all of that stitching! - and it's beautifully completed on both outside and the inside!  Thanks, Stacey!!

Meet the Design Team - Vivian Masket

Here we go again!  It's our Meet the DT Monday!  We're excited to feature the wonderful Vivian Masket this week!  Lets all give a big hello to her!

I'm torn between Detours and Night Light. (Bright colors get me every time!)

What size do you scrapbook? 

12" X 12"

mostly 1 page, but sometimes 2

Do you make cards? 

Lots of them!

Is your scrap area messy or neat? 

Now? Messy...very messy...

What camera do you use? 

Nikon D40

What is your favorite OA stamp set? 

Plain Jane alphas

Your favorite Ink? 

Black Staz-On (even though I hate the smell of it!) or Stampin' Up Real Red

Where do you find your inspiration? 

Just about everywhere - print ads, TV ads, magazines, store displays, etc.

What's your favorite scrapbooking color? 

anything bright against a kraft, white, or black background

What's your most-used scrapbook tool? 

My ruler! (I'm a pretty simple scrapper.)

Are you a slow scrapper or a quick scrapper? 

It depends on the layout; I'd say a page usually takes me anywhere from 1-2 hours.

What's your favorite quote? 

I'm not really a quote person. How about my favorite book instead? It's The Kite Runner.

Give us your favorite tip... 

I can't remember who taught me this, but I always adhere my letter stickers to a clear ruler so that I can "try titles on" before permanently adhering them in place. If you use a flexible ruler and let the top half of the letters hang off the top edge of the ruler, you can stick the top half of the letters down on your layout, flip the ruler up a bit and peel it away from the letters, and finish by sticking the bottom half of the letters onto your layout.

hands down...Weathervane

mostly 12x12, but I definitely mix in 8.5x11 now & then

1...I can't remember the last time I did a 2 page layout

Yes...it's a great way to use up scraps!

Hmmm...can't say that I have one!

Where do you find your inspiration? 

Pretty much anywhere...I love finding cool type treatments in magazines, fresh color combinations in catalogs, and great lyrics to use in journaling

What's your favorite scrapbooking color? 

I'd have to say kraft...followed closely by brown & orange.

What's your most-used scrapbook tool (aside from your trimmer)? 

squeeze punches - especially border punches

Are you a slow scrapper or a quick scrapper? 

sloooooow...I agonize over every little thing!

Give us your favorite tip... Journal how you talk. Don't overthink using proper grammar, or formal structure. Your journaling should "sound" like you!

Ducks in a Row - Reveal (part 6)

Once again, we have saved the best Ducks in a Row item for last . . .  Wild Cards!

First, the picture:

 

Then the description:  Wild Cards are 2.5"x3.5" cards (approximately playing card size) which come in a pack of 9 cards (one of each design shown above).  These cards are printed on a very heavy cardstock!

These cards have many uses, however I personally can't wait to make a mini-book out of them!
