Hi everyone, Mou here wishing you all a very Happy New Year on behalf of our October Afternoon family!
New Year is a time of fresh beginnings and resolutions. My creative resolution this year is to try new things, to try to think outside the box, to stretch beyond my comfort zone. In keeping with that idea, I created this New Year's greeting card using the Farm Girl collection. While the collection is not particularly geared toward celebrations, I wanted to use elements that would let me express my sentiments for the occasion well.
I started with pieces of Almanac and Pickling Crock papers.
Next, I cut out the little farm girl from Milk Pail paper and layered it on some Wooden Crate paper.
and attached the layered piece onto the card
Then, I had to convince myself that not every card has to say "Happy New Year" to send best wishes to a loved one. So, I took Front Porch Mini Market alphabet stickers to spell out 'Abundance'.
Next, I added a Licorice Label sticker to the left of 'Abundance' and penned in 'Wishing you', so the whole sentiment would read 'Wishing You Abundance'.
Finally, I took a couple of Farm Girl Tin Pins to add finishing touches to my card.
Yes, that's my wish for you: May this new year be filled with abudance of creativity, joy, and everything else you wish for!

I'm a suburban born farm girl. My mother tells the story my second word was horse. 4H and FFA dominated my youth. Two degrees in agriculture economics and marrying a country boy who grew up on the family farm. His Dad sold off the farm. 7 years ago we were able to return to the farm life. It's a love that most of this country can't understand, 2% of us feed 100% of our nation and 96% of the world. It's not an easy job and definitely not glamourous. I'm not into cute farming papers, but Farm Girl and Farm House have captured my heart, Thank you, October Afternoon!
I so fell in love with your card. I love your sentiment! My life is filled with abundance in a way I cannot describe! Thank you for tugging at this farm gal's heart!
