good morning everyone, danni here with a tutorial for you completely inspired by love, family, valentine's day and our OA journaling cards.
today's tutorial is a diy wet-erase magnetic "i love you because" frame. in very little time, you can create a last-minute valentine's day gift, or just a daily relationship enhancing gift...giggle, using your OA supplies.
(this is not a new or novel idea, you can find diy "i love you today because" frames on Etsy and Pinterest. you can also find diy "kitchen menu" frames if you'd like something for the kitchen. (i believe our very own stacey kingman shared an amazing diy "today's menu" frame for the kitchen on the blog awhile ago.)
the twist is that today's tutorial will focus on how quick and easy these diy frames are to create using your OA journaling cards. i love our journaling cards for layouts and cards, but sometimes you have a couple leftover that didn't make the card or lo "cut", don't set them aside, let's show them some love.
here's the diy wet-erase frame we will be creating
what you will need to create one of these frames:
a magnetic frame (found at most craft stores, i purchased mine at Michael's)
OA journaling cards
(i do suggest selecting a journaling card with a fairly light background so that it's easy-reading for your loved one)
8 x 8 OA pp pad or OA scraps from a layout or card.
(i used the new OA Woodland Park line released at winter CHA 2012)
cardstock
printer
Expo Vis-a-Vis wet-erase markers
(i purchased mine at Amazon)
tab punch if you have one
(i used the new Jenni Bowlin tab punch)
so let's get started.
now, you have a frame on the refrigerator, that your significant other can be sure to check daily for little love notes and a reminder of what you "love about each other" daily. (don't limit yourself to hubby or significant other, children and teenagers would love reading little notes and reminders of all the things you love about them, the sky's the limit!)
if you create one for your loved ones (kids or hubby alike) we'd love to be inspired in our Flickr Gallery.
thanks for visiting us today. happy creating♥

Danni, this is absolutely fabulous! I love the idea! I just might try this... we don't usually celebrate ♥-day, I believe we should show our love every single day and not limit it to Feb 14th :-) And this is just perfect for that purpose, for those cute little every day notes. Thank you SO much for the inspiration and a great tutorial!

That is _absolutely_ adorable!! We have this "no fridge magnets AT ALL deal" here... but I am thinking making one of these might actually change DH's mind... at least I'm sure THAT'd be allowed up! :D
