Hey everyone! Kinsey and Roree here with a pinterest inspired color challenge! I am completely smitten with pinterest and one of my favorite and most pinned categories is color combos...so I figured why not do a color combo challenge?! The combo I chose for this one is aqua, chartreuse, grey, and white- check out these beauties...
Print & Pattern: Carolyn Gavin
Fun right?! So, as I mentioned earlier, Roree joined me for this challenge and you're going to LOVE what she came up with! Check out her handmade take-out box and fortune cookie...so cute!
This would be the cutest Valentine's gift filled with candy, a small gift, and some of those fabulous fortune cookies with little love notes inside. I love what she came up with and am seriously going to look up a tutorial on Pinterest for making those fortune cookies...
For my take on the challenge, I figured since I was already using pinterest for the color combo, why not just go all out and use a pin for the layout as well? Here's the inspiration for the placement/layout...
Unknown (here's a link to the pin on pinterest but the original link is broken, if anyone knows whose art this is, please let me know and I'll be sure to add the link!)
EDITED TO ADD: the image above is from Valerian Marguery (thanks Dana!)
I stayed really close to the general layout of the art piece but made it my own with patterned papers from the cakewalk and 9 to 5 collections...
(please excuse the bad photos- it's been nasty out so natural light has been hard to come by) I wanted to keep the embellishments to a minimum because there's a lot of pattern going on but I love the geometric feel.
So my challenge to you is simple- using this color scheme, make something...could be anything...but something. And post it to the flickr gallery or link us up in the comments! We love to see your beautiful work! And who knows? It could end up here on the blog!
Thanks so much for stopping by today, and if you're not on pinterest already- you should be! :)
Take care, Kinsey & Roree

Thank you for the inspiration! These are my favorite colors and it's a delight to see all of them together on the same layout.
