A Grid-based Sketch

Hi there everyone.  It's Marcy here today with this week's sketch.  I knew I wanted to incorporate a grid design this week, but I didn't want photos to get lost.  And this is what I came up with...

I had grand plans for the grid section of this sketch.  But, as often happens in my world, it just didn't work out.  Sometimes it just looks better in my head than it does on paper.  

Originally I was going to stitch a messy grid and fill it with little paper squares. But, nope.  I ended up with this.

That much of a grid just wasn't me.  So I decided to highlight a couple of the lines of the grid with little strips of paper instead.  Here's a closer peek.

I really loved mixing Sidewalks with Boarding Pass.  I wasn't sure it would work out, but it totally did.

(And after I finished this page I realized I'd already scrapped these photos!  Oops!  I hope I'm not the only one that happens too!  ha)

I passed the sketch off to Roree and used it to create this fantastic card!

I think it's neat that we both chose to stitch the grid!  And don't even get me started on those flowers!!!  Love them!
