Good morning friends! I am super excited to get to introduce you to our guest designer for the month of January...Jill Cornell!!
So without further ado...let's get to know her!
1) Tell us a little about yourself.
My name is Jill Cornell and I live in Windsor Heights, Iowa, with my husband of
7 years and our 20-month-old twin daughters. We adopted them into our lives and
hearts when they were just days old. I have a degree and career experience in
public relations and broadcasting but am now a stay-at-home mom. Other than
scrapbooking, I enjoy reading, working out, spending time with my family,
friends, and church family and a good cup of coffee.
2) Tell us about your scrapbook style and how long you have been scrapbooking?
I would consider myself to have a shabby chic style with clean lines. I enjoy
incorporating ink, paint, distressing and almost always machine stitching on my
layouts and projects. I have been scrapbooking for the past 7 years.
3) Are you a layout person or a card person...or both?
I definitely love doing both! I started out scrapbooking and then took a bit of
a hiatus and focused on cards and altered projects. But with the birth of my
daughters, I have grown to love creating layouts again and documenting our
family memories.
4) What is on your scrap desk right now?
I just finished creating a winter banner with mittens and snowflakes so I need
to do a little clean up! :)
5) What is your very favorite October Afternoon line of paper?
Such a tough question as I'm pretty sure I own and have worked with about every
OA line that has come out! :) I'll narrow it down to two - Very Merry is such a
fun, whimsical Christmas line, and I adore the doilies and vintage look of
Thrift Shop.
6) What can you NOT scrapbook without?
Distressing techniques - whether it's sanding, inking or painting...I have to
do
something or my project doesn't feel complete.
7) What is your favorite source for inspiration?
My family, for sure! But I also get much inspiration from fabric, decorating,
vintage treasures, and my fellow scrappers!
8) Favorite TV show?
I am addicted to The Vampire Diaries and Gossip - guilty pleasures, I know! :)
9) Favorite 7th grade memory?
I think I would rather forget the 7th grade...too many bad memories of my nerdy
days. :)
10) If you could have dinner with anyone living or dead who would it be and why?
I'll put a creative spin on this question and say Martha Stewart. I would love
to sit down and pick her brain and hopefully soak up some creative genius.
Ready to be inspired???
